Capital Improvement Plan

The city schedules capital improvement projects in five-year intervals to meet the city’s infrastructure needs and to comply with state mandated growth management. Through City Ordinance, this is done every year as part of the budgeting process. The city has budgeted $163,904,636 in capital improvements for fiscal year 2010-11.

Capital improvements are projects that involve construction that is meant to last at least 10 years, have an estimated construction cost of more than $100,000. 

A complete listing of the city’s CIP projects, can be found in the city’s budget book. The list below is a sampling of the projects expected to be completed in the 2010-11 fiscal year:
  • Southbank Riverwalk renovation and replacement
  • Coastline Drive and Riverwalk repairs on the Northbank
  • Renovations and improvements to Fire Station #56 and Fire Station #2
  • Joe Carlucci Boat Ramp
  • Sisters Creek Dock and Pump Out
  • Mayport Boat Ramp
