This constitutional office supports the 4th Judicial Circuit Court (Clay, Duval, Nassau) and Duval County Court. It collects and disburses money related to fines, court costs, forfeitures, service fees, alimony, child support, and victim restitution.
The office maintains and preserves all county public records and court proceedings, issues marriage licenses, supervises tax deed and foreclosure sales, collects fines, forfeitures, service charges, fees and bonds for civil, misdemeanor and felony cases. It manages the Domestic Relations Depository (services alimony and child support cases), a Mental Health Department, Probate and the Traffic Violations Bureau.
The Clerk’s office provides professional support for the judiciary, the legal community, financial institutions and the general public.
The Clerk of the Court is Jim Fuller. This office currently employs more than 400 state and county employees. Due to statewide and local budget constraints, the Clerk’s office has been reducing the number of personnel through attrition and a hiring freeze while maintaining the highest level of service to the public and to the courts.
