Office of the Director
The Office of the Director oversees the Municipal Code Compliance, Environmental Quality, Mosquito Control, Public Parking and Animal Care and Control divisions in the Environmental and Compliance Department. It has a staff of 12.
The office manages a variety of environmental programs including the Energy Efficiency Community Block Grant program, the Office of Sustainability Initiatives, water withdrawal and water quality efforts, landfill permitting, the Project New Ground (ash clean-up) program, Permitting and Inspection of Electronic Game Promotions and the Clean-It Up, Green-It-Up program.

In 2008, an executive order signed by Mayor John Peyton created the city’s first Office of Sustainability. A citywide sustainability team focuses on creating sustainable policies that protect our city’s natural assets while creating economic savings and opportunities.
