Public Parking
This division is responsible for parking enforcement, vehicle registration and inspections of all city-owned vehicles. It operates public parking lots and garages. It also regulates taxis, limousines and other vehicles-for-hire, as well as wreckers and school buses. This division has 51 employees.
Division staff is working to address obsolete language in relevant ordinances, explore new parking meter technology and promote the use of underutilized parking facilities.
By using the Autovue license plate recognition technology, the division expects to exceed $100,000 in collection of delinquent fines.
