Accounting
The Accounting Division has 49 employees and provides accounting services and interim financial reports for all city departments. In addition, the division is responsible for processing payroll, paying vendors that provide services to the city, and preparing the city’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report which details the city’s financial status.
This division is responsible for ensuring city compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and various city, state and federal laws. This division will also provide accounting and reporting for new stimulus grants awarded under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

The Accounting Division has won the Government Finance Officers Association “Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting” award for the last 30 years. In 2011, the city will make about 216,000 direct payroll deposits.
