Ancillary Legal Charges
To provide the necessary litigation and transactional support for unforeseen claims and issues on behalf of the consolidated government, there has been established within the Office of General Counsel the Ancillary Legal Account. This account acts as a clearing house for the payment of court reporters, process servers, witness fees, deposition fees, expert consultants, witnesses and other costs associated with legal representation that cannot be budgeted in advance. Each cost is monitored and approved by the Office of General Counsel. The payment of these costs is necessary for the protection of the city’s assets and the defense of city policies.
2011 Budget:
The Ancillary Legal Charges area’s budget is $929,615.
2010 Budget:
The Ancillary Legal Charges area’s budget was $446,680.
