Community Planning
This division monitors, maintains and amends the city’s comprehensive plan which manages the planning of capital facilities, land use, parks, historic preservation and neighborhoods, as well as long-range transportation plans. This division has 29 employees.
The division is currently working to implement the 2030 Mobility Plan. Objectives of the plan are to support a variety of transportation modes, reduce vehicle miles traveled, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, promote compact and interconnected development and improve the health and quality of life for Jacksonville residents.

The budget for the Community Planning Division is $2,865,238.
2010 Budget:
The budget for the Community Planning Division was $3,147,375.

Jacksonville’s 2030 Mobility Plan is projected to cost approximately $985 million, in current dollars, and is expected to include roadway improvements, bus rapid transit, commuter rail, streetcars, 69 miles of sidewalk and 100 miles of bicycle facilities such as lanes, paths, racks and parking facilities.
