Development Services
Development Services encompasses the Review Group, Zoning, Concurrency and Addressing agencies that are involved in regulating land use. The division has 38 employees.
The Review Group receives and provides plan review and inspection for subdivisions, commercial projects, road and drainage construction; it also issues and inspects right-of-way permits and determines the flood plain.
The Zoning Counter ensures applicants are applying for allowable property uses and accepts applications for zoning exceptions and variances, administrative deviations, other waivers and certificates of use.
The Concurrency Management System Office receives all concurrency applications and tests for available capacity in mass transit, traffic circulation, solid waste, stormwater runoff, potable water, sanitary sewer systems, recreation and open space.
The Addressing Office coordinates 9-1-1 emergency addressing and issues new street addresses.
