Elected Officials Orientation Program

The General Counsel's Office provides a comprehensive orientation program for newly elected officials on local government topics, including Jacksonville's Consolidated Government, municipal finance, collective bargaining, eminent domain, land use, procurement, and related topics. Annually, the Office of the General Counsel provides Government in the Sunshine and public records training to all Council members and their Executive Council Assistants.  The last such program occurred after the 2011 City of Jacksonville elections.
