City of Jacksonville

The City of Jacksonville (COJ) and the Jacksonville Police & Fire Pension Fund (JPFPF) held public meetings in the sunshine to discuss retirement issues. The meetings were moderated by former State Attorney Rod Smith. All meetings between the parties were noticed to the public in advance, and open for the public to attend.

In order to ensure that all members of the public have access, the discussions have been recorded. Meeting videos and written transcripts will be placed on this City web page below.

After nearly three weeks of public negotiations at City Hall, a comprehensive agreement was reached between the City and the Police and Fire Pension Fund that addresses each of the major areas of concern that City Council identified during the debate over last year’s agreement, and that the Jacksonville Retirement Reform Task Force identified during its review of pension issues. You can see details of the agreement in the documents below.
