Calico Kitten with Toy

Kitten Season is Coming

March 07, 2019
Last year, more than 6,000 kittens were served by Animal Care and Protective Services and the Jacksonville Humane Society. In an effort to reduce the growing pet population that occurs during the spring and summer, citizens are encouraged to spay or neuter their cat(s), including outdoor community cats.
The following programs are available for free surgeries:

Duval Cat Fix: The spay/neuter program is available for both feral and pet cats. Citizens participating in the program must be residents of Duval County. To schedule an appointment, citizens should contact Animal Care and Protective Services at (904) 630-CITY.

Spay Jax: Citizens who meet the Spay Jax program’s income criteria are eligible to have up to six animals spayed or neutered for free per year. To schedule an appointment, citizens should contact Animal Care and Protective Services at (904) 630-CITY. Click here to view the list of qualifications for participation.
