Jamie C. Shelton

Mayor Names Jamie C. Shelton to Serve on JAXPORT Board

Jamie C. Shelton has been named to replace Ambassador John Rood on the JAXPORT board. Rood resigned from the board last month to accept an appointment to the Florida Prepaid College Board by Governor Rick Scott.


“Jamie will bring a great deal of experience to the JAXPORT Board,” said Mayor Lenny Curry. “His leadership and service demonstrate a strong commitment to the growth of our city, and its people.”

President of bestbet Jacksonville, Shelton began his professional career as a certified public accountant for Arthur Andersen in Memphis, Tennessee, progressing from staff accountant to Senior Manager of Audit and Advisory Services. He left the firm in 2001 to join Jacksonville-based Regency Centers. At Regency Centers, Shelton served as VP - Controller of Western Operations and VP - Real Estate Accounting and Risk Management. He joined bestbet Jacksonville as its chief financial officer in 2009, and was promoted to President in 2013.

A graduate of David Lipscomb University, Shelton is active in a number of community organizations and boards including Jacksonville University, the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce, Jacksonville Sports Council, Leadership Jacksonville, the Sulzbacher Center and Jacksonville Civic Council.
