The Wall that Heals Comes to Jacksonville

April 12, 2017
Jacksonville is home to the nation’s second largest veterans memorial wall. Beginning Thursday, Jacksonville will temporarily be home to a replica of the nation’s largest memorial wall, the Vietnam War Memorial Wall located in Washington, D.C.
The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund’s (VVMF) half-scale Vietnam Veterans Memorial replica, which was designed to travel to communities throughout the United States, will be in town for four days during its 2017 The Wall That Heals Tour. Since its dedication, The Wall That Heals has visited more than 400 cities and towns throughout the nation, spreading the Memorial's healing legacy to millions. The wall is approximately 250 feet in length, and like the original Memorial, is erected in a chevron-shape. During its stay, the wall will be located at Metropolitan Park (1410 Gator Bowl Blvd. – 32202) for public viewing through Sunday, April 16.
