Time Capsule Contents Available Online

After nearly 60 years behind a cornerstone in the old Bay Street City Hall building, the contents of the 1960 time capsule opened by Mayor Lenny Curry and City Council President Aaron Bowman on Oct. 3 have been digitized and stored in the Special Collections Department at the Main Library (303 N Laura St. – 32202).
Citizens can view the artifacts on
the Jacksonville Public Library's website.
Interested parties seeking to view the artifacts in person can call (904) 630-2409 to schedule an appointment with a librarian. Work is currently in progress to create a name index to make it easier to find specific people mentioned within the artifacts.
