Timeline Announcement – Federal Impact Aid Survey is Here!

The Federal Impact Aid Program is designed to assist United States local school districts that have lost property tax revenue due to the presence of tax-exempt Federal property, or that have experienced increased expenditures due to the enrollment of federally connected children.  For Duval County Public Schools, both scenarios apply.

The Federal Impact Aid Survey Form will come home with your child beginning Monday, October 15, 2018.  The Survey applies to parents who are Active Duty Members of the Uniformed Services OR Civilians who work or live on Federal Property.  The names and addresses of properties which apply to this funding source will be listed on the back of the form for easier information access. An expanded list of Civilian/Federal Property employers can be viewed at duvalschools.org/fedimpactaid.  If the company you work for is not listed and you work on Federal Property, you can still fill out the form and list the name of your company.

Why is your time and attention to this survey so important? Millions of dollars of funding are available to our district from the Federal Government through this funding source for the purchase of books, materials, technology, personnel, capital improvement (i.e. buildings, etc.), etc.

While we know military personnel with school age children apply to this survey, we too often miss funding which comes from Civilians, with school age children, who work or live on the listed properties.  Please read the form carefully to see if your work or living situation applies to the survey.  If so, download and fill out the FIA survey for this year (2018-2019 FY20) and return to your child’s school the next school day.  Our district deadline for receipt of the forms is Friday, December 21, 2018 so please, don’t be late!
