Keep Jacksonville Beautiful Calls for Volunteers for Earth Day Downtown Cleanup

The City’s Keep Jacksonville Beautiful Commission, along with partners Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront and Downtown Vision, are seeking volunteers for the 6th Annual Earth Day Downtown Cleanup. Residents and volunteers, along with support from local businesses, will pick up litter in the area inside of Liberty, Water, Jefferson and Church streets.

Governor Rick Scott Announces JinkoSolar to Build New U.S. Solar Panel Manufacturing Facility Creating 200 Jobs

Today, Governor Rick Scott announced that JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd., a global leader in the solar industry, will build a new state-of-the-art solar panel manufacturing facility in Jacksonville. The new facility will create 200 new manufacturing jobs and will begin production of high efficiency solar panels beginning this year.  
 

Gov. Scott: Jacksonville Area Ranks Fourth in State Job Creation

Today, Governor Rick Scott announced that the Jacksonville area added 18,100 new private-sector jobs in the last year, creating the fourth-highest number of jobs among all Florida metro areas. Jacksonville’s unemployment rate was 3.5 percent in February, down 0.8 percentage point from one year ago. Statewide, Florida businesses created more than 25,000 new jobs in February bringing the total number of new private-sector jobs created in Florida to nearly 1.5 million since December 2010.
