The ultimate celebration for Jacksonville’s children and families - is back again with even more free, exciting entertainment than ever. This huge festival attracts more than 6,000 families annually, showcasing programs and services offered by the Jacksonville Children’s Commission and dozens of family-serving community partners through the exhibition of resources and fun activities. The theme for this year’s event is “family play,” which aims to promote healthy living and fitness fun through a quality family experience.
Baby Jam - an exciting, interactive performance for infants and toddlers, featuring Emmy award-winning, world-renowned children’s performer and educator, Ella Jenkins. Show times are 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. All performances are free to the public.

Family Health & Safety Fair - Featuring numerous partners and community organizations that provide health and safety services to families within our community. There will be free developmental screenings for children, various health screenings for parents, sensory learning activities, obstacle course for children with special needs, and more.

JaxKids Book Club -make-and-take crafts, corresponding with books from the JaxKids Book Club collection.

Teddy Bear Hospital - sponsored by Solantic Walk-in Urgent Care, children will learn how to care for and apply band-aids to stuffed animals – and then get to take them home for “recovery.”

Storytime with “Mrs. Owl”- storytimes on the half hour with “Mrs. Owl” in the Children’s Theatre. Storytimes will be held at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 1:30 p.m.

Wii Gaming Tournament - teens, ages 12 to 18, are invited to compete in a Wii gaming tournament, for a chance to win an MP3 player. Hosted by the Library’s Teen Department, the tournament will begin at 11a.m.

Outdoor Family Festival-featuring “family play” activities, hayrides, Blue Bell Creameries ice cream, music and dancing with DJ Steve and Mikey P, Quick Start Tennis clinics, fitness fun with the Shannon Miller Lifestyle, wholesome samplings from Whole Foods Market, Bubbleocity from JaxParks, nutrition activities from Chartwells Dining Services, sports activities, free face painting, crafts and much, much more!

Parking and Street Closure Information for the Event:
 
Free parking is available and open to the public in the following locations:
 
    • Flat lot on the corner of Main and Duval streets (between Church and Duval streets)
    • Street parking on any street that is not closed off (meters are free on Saturdays)
    • Duval Street parking garage (corner of Duval and Main streets)
 
      • Attendees parking in the Duval Street garage can get their parking validated by taking the ticket with them to one of two validation stations set up for the event.  A validation stamp is required for this parking to be free of charge.  Validation stations will be located at the information tent on Laura Street and inside the library at the first floor information desk behind the grand staircase.
 
The following downtown streets will be closed by 7 a.m., Saturday, March 3, to accommodate
the event. Streets will reopen at approximately 3 p.m.
 
o   Duval Street W. from Main Street to Julia Street
o   Laura Street W. from Monroe Street to Church Street
o   Monroe Street W. from Main Street to Julia Street
o   Hogan Street N. from Adams Street W. to Church Street N.
 
Signs will be posted to direct motorists to available parking areas and garages.  Law enforcement and directional signage will be available to assist motorists with traffic direction
