The Jacksonville Journey Oversight Committee's responsibilities include:

• working in concert with the city's grant making agencies to establish measurement and reporting systems;
• issuing an annual community-wide report card on the progress of the Journey funded programs;
• making annual recommendations on programs to be funded based on the prior year's performance;
• continuing the data gathering and public policy initiated by the Journey for further refinement; and
• advocating for the investment of new public and private dollars as well as state and federal initiatives.

Chair - W.C. Gentry

W.C. Gentry has served the legal community for more than 45 years. Gentry practiced with a large trial firm for 15 years before establishing his own firm, the Law Office of W.C. Gentry, P.A., in the year 2000. Gentry played a lead role coordinating a team of lawyers who successfully represented the State of Florida against the Tobacco Industry, culminating in a multibillion dollar settlement for the state in 1998. Gentry’s professional associations include The Florida Bar, Florida Justice Association and American Justice Association. His community involvement activities have included service on the Duval County School Board and the Early Learning Coalition Board.W.C. Gentry has served the legal community for more than 45 years. Vice Chair - Tracy Tousey

Tracy Tousey is a philanthropic consultant for The Community Foundation in Jacksonville and the Do Something Great Today Foundation. Previously, Tousey was a program officer at the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation, a statewide private foundation based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She also practiced law in the commercial litigation group at Helms, Mulliss & Wicker in Charlotte, North Carolina. Tousey currently chairs the Florida Philanthropic Network’s Education Funders Affinity Group and serves on the advocacy committee of the Jacksonville Public Education Fund, the steering committee for the Urban Education Symposium, and the leadership team for Learning to Finish.

Ricardo A. "Ricky" Bedoya

Ricky Bedoya is an attorney in the Jacksonville office of Medtronic.  He was born in Jacksonville and grew up in Lake City, FL.  He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Catholic Charities Bureau-Jacksonville, member of the Mayor's Hispanic American Advisory Board, President-elect of the Hispanic Bar of N.E. Florida, and is involved in the Jacksonville Sister Cities Association.  He received a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Cell Science with a Minor in Chemistry from the University of Florida, a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from Boston University School of Public Health, and a law degree from Vanderbilt University.

Rory Diamond

Rory is the Executive Director of K9s For Warriors and is responsible for the executive management of the non-profit organization. Prior to leading K9s For Warriors, Rory was a litigator at two international law firms specializing in complex litigation, government investigations, and sophisticated bank fraud. Rory also served as a federal prosecutor for the U.S. Department of Justice specializing in organized crime, public corruption, and financial fraud prosecutions. Before earning his law degree, Rory served as Briefing Director for California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and as a Deputy Associate Director at the White House for President George W. Bush. Rory was working in the White House on 9/11 and, ultimately, served as part of the startup staff for the U.S. Office of Homeland Security.

 

Andrea Sharpe

Paula Wright

The Honorable Paula D. Wright represents District 4 and was elected to the Duval County School Board in August 2010. A Jacksonville native, Paula graduated from Edward H. White High School and Jacksonville University where she earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in English. Paula brings a rich and diverse background having experience as a manager in the corporate world, newspaper publisher, radio talk show hostess, athletic coach, and an educator in both post-secondary and public school education. Most recently, she was employed as an administrator in the High School Acceleration Programs Office in Duval County, where she transitioned from teaching 8th grade Language Arts and Reading, served as a school-based Reading Coach, and head coach of the girls’ basketball and swimming teams, all at Northwestern Middle School. She also served as a District Literacy Coach and a Specialist in the Academic Services Department. Paula, as an adjunct, taught remedial English at two local colleges, Florida State Community College (then Florida Community College at Jacksonville) and Edward Waters College for more than ten years. As a committed educator, Paula throughout her adult life has dedicated time to mentoring students, serving as an active PTA member at multiple schools, and being involved in the community. Paula is an experienced educator, a motivational speaker, and a member of the PTA of several schools. Publishing The Jacksonville Chronicle Newspaper and hosting ViewPoint with The Honorable Paula D. Wright, a live radio talk show, afforded Paula the opportunity to not only inform citizens of important issues impacting their lives, but to keep her finger on the pulse of the community. Paula is an active member of St. Matthew Baptist Church, and she has served in many capacities including on the Springfield Preservation, and Restoration Board, the TRUE Commission, the Duval County Desegregation Committee, Junior Achievement, NAACP Education Committee, as well as other community organizations.

Scott Wiley

A longtime area resident, Scott Wiley is a local Realtor and member of the Northeast Florida Realtor Association. He serves on the Neptune Beach City Council. Previous positions include his role as assistant vice president of Ocean State Bank and NationsBank. Wiley has also served as business manager and finance director for Brumos Motor Cars. His community involvement includes work with Mentors Making a Difference, Neptune Beach Elementary School, and the Beaches Boys & Girls Club.

Terrence Harvey

Terrence L. Harvey, is the Founder and Managing Partner of The Harvey Firm, P.L.L.C. Areas of his community involvement include serving as pro-bono attorney for Jacksonville Area Legal Aid and mentoring with various community organizations. He is an experienced civil litigator in the areas of: personal injury, contract disputes and bankruptcy. Mr. Harvey currently serves on the Board of Directors for Wayman Academy of The Arts and as general counsel to Mack’s Gym, LLC, in addition to other business entities in Florida. Mr. Harvey also serves as an arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. His professional associations include: The Florida Bar, Jacksonville Bar Association and The Chester Bedell Inns of Court.
 

April Green

April Green currently serves as chief operating officer for Baxter Technology. Green also holds the positions of chief financial officer and chief operating officer for Bethel Baptist Institutional Church. She previously served as corporate tourism director for the Jacksonville Convention & Visitors Bureau and senior vice president secondary marketing for Bank of America. Green’s community involvement activities include serving as a board member with the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce, Hands On Jacksonville and B.E.S.T Academy. She is also a member of the 2015 Leadership Florida class.
