Council Member Joyce Morgan ran in the 2017 Gate River Run along with city employees Merriane Lahmeur, Peggy Sidman, Kirby Oberdorfer, and Sonya Hoener. The Gate River Run crosses two major bridges over the St. Johns River and is known as the largest 15K race in the country.
