JTC Running presents Groundwork Jacksonville with a $50,000 donation for the development of a comprehensive trail master plan for the Emerald Necklace. Originally envisioned by famed architect Henry Klutho more than 100 years ago, the Emerald Necklace will encompass approximately 14-miles of trails, greenspace, parks and waterways that encircle the urban core and link our urban neighborhoods and downtown to Hogans Creek, McCoy’s Creek, the S-Line Rail Trail and the North bank and Southbank Riverwalk’s.

CM Gaffney revisited Cathedral Towers after hearing multiple concerns from residents about the unlevel sidewalks causing difficulties for handicap equipment and assistance. Another site on the visit was Hart Road, where CM Gaffney evaluated possible ways to afford constituents escape route access in the event of future flooding as was experienced during Hurricane Irma.
