The bi-monthly community meeting for district 8 took place at Emmett Reed Community Center to discuss updates for the residents.

The Anniversary celebration for the Sassy Seniors and Steppers was held at Bethesda Community Center. 

Council Member Pittman participated in the Critical Quality of Life Issues meeting on Affordable Workforce Housing in the Lynwood Roberts Room at City Hall.

Council Member Pittman attended the LaVilla Historical Planning meeting held in the Lynwood Roberts Room at Jacksonville City Hall.

Council Member Pittman presents a resolution recognizing Asst. Chief Greg Burtons for 25 years of service with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

The Resolution Presentation Honoring the Life & Accomplishments of Master Chief Sherman Byrd for being the U.S. Navy’s First African American Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician was presented.

Council Member Pittman conducted a community walk through with the constituents of Angel Lakes Estates.

Council Member Pittman attended the 2021 Seniors Thanksgiving Luncheon at the Legends Center on Nov. 19, 2021.

On December 22^nd CM Pittman teamed up with Council Member Reggie Gaffney and Council President Sam Newby to distribute holiday hams to the community, and to promote the importance of getting vaccinated against Covid-19.
 
The giveaway took place at JP Smalls Park off of Myrtle Ave. and 8^th Street.
 

A town hall meeting was conducted by Council Member Ju'Coby Pittman and city officials at the highlands library on November 4th 2021.

CM Pittman conducted a meeting with the property owners on Myrtle Ave for the
Myrtle Ave Area Building Renovation Grant Program.

Council Member Pittman participates in the 2021 Jacksonville Seniors Fish-a-thon at Hanna Park.  

Council Member Pittman visited with JEA employee Greg Corcoran and Chuck Choan, Project Manager from JB Coxwell to receive an update on the progression of the septic tank phase out project on Ribault Dr.

On September 30^th, Council Member Pittman along with Chief Michael Chao and his team of inspectors conducted follow-up inspections at Hilltop Village Apartments regarding the living conditions at the apartment complex.

Wednesday (4/3/2019), Councilwoman Ju’Coby Pittman, partnered with Suits for Seniors and Rubenstein Law Firm to Kick-Off the “Suits for Seniors” initiative at Raines Senior High and Ribault Senior High School.  The eight week initiative is devoted to serving high-risk students in underserved communities and schools to make a long impact in leadership, financial literacy, life skills, college and career readiness and preparedness.  Once completed students will receive a certificate and a custom made suit for each students.  Jervote Edmonds, CEO/Founder of Suits for Seniors, DeWayne Terry, Partner, Rubenstein Law Firm, Councilwoman Ju’Coby Pittman, Principal Hall, Raines Senior High and Principal Bostic, Ribault Senior High School.

As a part of the Keep Jacksonville Beautiful initiative, Councilwoman Pittman participated in the St. Johns River Celebration 24^th Annual Cleanup by hosting a District 8 Cleanup site and crew in the Moncrief Springs neighborhood.
 
District 8 Ambassadors, volunteers, and community members came out to help beautify the neighborhood by removing litter and debris. We collected 30 bags of trash in 3 hours.
 

Council Member Pittman provided a tour of City Council offices and provided an overview of local government for legislators visiting from the Russian Delegation. Guests included Mr. Dimitrii Sokolov, Deputy of Yaroslav City; Mr. Sergei Zanin, Deputy of Osa Township Duma; Mr. Ilya Kravchenko, Deputy of Volgograd City Duma; Ms. Natalia Bobreshova, Member of the United Russia faction in the Beloyarsk City Council of Deputies; and Ms. Daria Samolyanets, Head of the United Russia faction in the Pyatigorsk City Duma.  The event was hosted by GlobalJax, a local nonprofit organization that partners with the US State Department and US Congress on international development and public diplomacy projects.

The Florida Department of Transportation is completing a road clearance project to establish safe walkways on Ribault Bridge. Area sidewalks have been cleared, which will allow students to use sidewalks instead of the street while walking to school. 

Council Member Ju'Coby Pittman was in attendance at the November meeting of the Dinsmore Elementary School Advisory Council. The School Advisory Council (SAC) is a team of people representing various segments of the community-parents, teachers, students, administrators, support staff, business/industry people and other interested community members. 

Council Member Ju'Coby Pittman met with Librarian Marshelle Berry to discuss current initiatives at the Graham Branch Library in Oceanway. 

Council Member Ju'Coby Pittman attended the 1st Annual Northside Coalition Health Fair at Clanzel T. Brown Community Center. Providers at the event offered medical screenings and distributed information to raise awareness about health and wellbeing. 

Council Member Ju'Coby Pittman visited the Clanzel T. Brown Senior Center to meet and serve lunch to local area seniors. The event provided CM Pittman the opportunity to hear about concerns and areas for improvement. 

Council Member Ju'Coby Pittman participated in the city project to cleanup cemeteries in District 8. The district is home to multiple historic cemeteries that require additional maintenance to prevent decay of monuments. 

Council Member Ju'Coby Pittman toured the Medical Examiner's Office to learn more about the facilities and challenges facing the department.
