Jacksonville Mayor John Peyton will be joined by City Council President Ronnie Fussell, Council Member Michael Corrigan and St. Johns Riverkeeper executive director Neil Armingeon as he signs two bills approved by the Jacksonville City Council designed to conserve Jacksonville’s water supply and improve the health of the St. Johns River. On Tuesday evening, the Jacksonville City Council passed legislation enacting 2008-028, a fertilizer ordinance that will foster best management practices for retail facilities, commercial fertilizer applicators and residents. In addition, legislation was passed placing restrictions on lawn watering for residential, commercial and government properties (2008-030).
