City Council Task Force on Consolidated Government to Hold Public Input Meetings

October 17, 2013

In August, the Jacksonville City Council passed Resolution 2013-551-A, creating the Task Force on Consolidated Government to undertake an in depth review of the history, formation and operation of the consolidated government of Jacksonville.  The Task Force, Chaired by Council Member Lori Boyer, is now seeking input from the public with the hope of hearing directly from residents on the effects of consolidation.

The Task Force has announced the dates and locations of five public meetings around Jacksonville where they will hear comments from the public.  All meetings are open to the public and all are invited to attend.  Council Member Boyer believes “the Task Force must have input from to public, otherwise the Task Force has missed an opportunity to hear how local government affects the daily lives of its residents.”
