Council President Clark Creates Budget E-Mail Suggestion Box

July 31, 2009
Jacksonville City Council President Richard Clark (District 3) today announced the creation of an electronic suggestion box through which interested citizens can provide ideas and make suggestions to the City Council regarding cost saving ideas for the FY2010 budget now under consideration by the Council's Finance Committee. By e-mailing to BudgetSuggestions@coj.net, citizens can make recommendations for spending priorities and suggest particular cost saving ideas for consideration by the Finance Committee.

'As Jacksonville faces its most difficult budget in many years, it just seems to make sense to seek out as many good ideas as possible to help sharpen our focus and find every possible cost savings that may be available' said President Clark. 'The general public and the business community have been tightening their belts and squeezing down expenses for more than a year now, and perhaps they can help us with ideas and strategies that have worked for them that might be applied to the City budget as well. I look forward to seeing the public's creative ideas.'

BudgetSuggestions@coj.net will become operational on Monday, August 3rd.

NOTE: Under Florida law, email addresses are public records. If you do not want your email address published, do not send electronic mail to BudgetSuggestions@coj.net, City Council Members or staff. Instead, contact the City Council by phone or in writing.'
