The St. Johns River Ferry Commission is happy to announce that normal operations of the St. Johns River ferry will resume tomorrow (Wednesday, March 9) at 6:00 am. Join us on board and experience our freshly overhauled ferry with new, wider drive lanes allowing easier egress from your vehicles. We thank you again for your patience and look forward to seeing you soon!
On January 5, 2016, the ferry will begin an inspection and overhaul as periodically required by the United States Coast Guard. Because the inspection and overhaul will require the ferry to be dry docked, the ferry will be out of service for six weeks. Normal daily service will continue through January 4th − and we anticipate returning to normal daily service on February 18.
The U.S. Coast Guard has completed their inspection and operational testing of the St. Johns River Ferry and it has resumed normal service. Thank you again for your patience and we apologize for any inconvenience(s) caused.
Thank you for your patience. Engine repairs to the St. Johns River Ferry are scheduled to be inspected and tested tomorrow by the United States Guard (USCG) and the ferry will return to normal service beginning Friday at 6 AM. In the event the USCG can inspect and return the ferry to service beforehand, a subsequent “Alert” will be posted to this smart phone app notifying you of the same.
Mechanical repairs to the St. Johns River Ferry continue and the ferry will NOT operate today or tomorrow (Tuesday or Wednesday). The St. Johns River Ferry Commission is working to have the ferry back in service by Thursday, November 19. For additional updates, please continue to monitor the “Alerts” tab on your JAX FERRY smart phone app.
