Jacksonville's Emergency Medical Auxiliary (JEMA)
The Jacksonville Emergency Medical Auxiliary (JEMA) is a corp of new and experienced EMS providers that provide additional manpower for the Jacksonville's Fire and Rescue Department's Division of Rescue. JEMA is currently seeking new volunteers who hold a current Florida EMT license, Paramedic license, or an FL Licensed Physician in a relevant field. Members are expected to attend 2 meetings and work 3 events every six months in addition to at least 2 rescue rides every two months. There is also training provided at least once a quarter.
Current members include flight medics, critical care medics, ER & OR Nurses with EMS certifications, SWAT Medics, those fresh out of school, and many more. Whether you are a seasoned provider looking to stay connected to the field, a brand new EMT looking for there first experiences, hoping to make a career as a first responder, or a life long volunteer there is a spot for you!
Inocluationas and TB tests are available to each JEMA member in good standing. EMS re-certification is available in the areas that pertain to emergency medicine to full and life members in good standing
