Sea Turtle Monitor

These are unpaid volunteer positions needed to help monitor for sea turtle nests at Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park and Huguenot Memorial Park from May through October each year. Duties include patrolling the beach at sunrise to identify any new nests or nesting attempts as well as monitoring for signs of nest hatching or predation.
Volunteers must be available at least one morning per week during nesting season.
- Experience with data entry and spreadsheets
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written and oral instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Excellent customer service skills
Volunteers must be able to arrive by sunrise on scheduled days and walk 1.5 miles along sandy beaches. Volunteers are also required to complete necessary FWC training typically given in March.
