Are you ready? JaxReady— brought to you by the Emergency Preparedness Division and Information Technologies Division of the City of Jacksonville, Florida
Duval County Emergency Management encourages individuals to be prepared so that in the face of adversity we can effectively and efficiently respond as a community together.
The City of Jacksonville Emergency Preparedness Division responds to all types of emergencies and disasters including, but not limited to: apartment fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, gas leaks, hazardous material spills, building collapse, and flooding.
The reason we plan for recovery is so that all of the partners involved – the school district, the city, the Beaches, the local businesses, and others – can ensure that everyone’s concerns are addressed after a disaster.
The Emergency Preparedness Division supports the Prevention mission area through planning, public information & warning, operation coordination, and intelligence and information sharing.
Duval County maintains a Local Mitigation Strategy (LMS) Plan aimed at defining the hazards that threaten the community and identifying measures to reduce the impacts of those hazards.
