With the rapid disintegration of Tropical Storm Erika, a weather event that did briefly result in Level III (EOC activation for monitoring purposes during normal business hours) activity within the JFRD Administrative Building before the storm officially dissipated August 30 and 31, the department was quickly returned to a rather more routine level of operations at the beginning of the month as evidenced by two noteworthy MCI activations occurring within a 24 hour period from September 1 through 2. Thankfully each accident did not result in any traumatic injuries but instead served as a community-wide reminder that school was now back in session and, with the latter element present yet again, more congestion along our city's already busy roadways and streets: a precursor for an increase in traffic accidents and corresponding transports by rescue.
