Bill Enables Advent Software to Expand in Jacksonville

A financial software company that employs 122 people on the Southside is proposing expansions that will allow it to create up to 123 new, full-time software development and IT client support positions in Jacksonville over the next three years, pending approval of state and local incentives.
Headquartered in San Francisco, Advent Software acquired Jacksonville-based Black Diamond Performance Reporting in 2011. The company, located on the Southside at 10151 Deerwood Park Blvd., currently operates in a facility with 30,000 square feet of space.

“Jacksonville is a leading city for high-tech job growth, and this commitment from Advent Software is another key corporate expansion in a targeted industry,” said Mayor Alvin Brown. “I’m proud of the partnership between the Office of Economic Development and JAXUSA Partnership to continue bringing these great opportunities to our city.”

Jacksonville has been gaining national attention for its IT strengths. Recently, Forbes ranked Jacksonville as number two in the nation for technology services job growth. This week, the city was ranked third among large cities for information technology services and advancement, according to e.Republic’s Center for Digital Government and Digital Communities Program.

“This project represents a perfect blend of two of our region’s fastest growing industries - financial services and IT,” said JAXUSA Partnership President Jerry Mallot. “Advent Software’s selection of Jacksonville, contingent on local and state approval of incentives, provides further validation that our market is attractive to technology innovators and the emerging IT talent that is required to fill these top jobs.”

More than 4,400 clients rely on Advent Software to meet the demands of the investment management industry. Advent Software has offices in 14 cities around the world. The company develops proprietary software for financial services companies. Advent has more than 1,200 employees worldwide.
