Active Duty, Veterans, Military Spouses and their business partners are invited to attend an informative one-day workshop on "Starting a Franchise Business". This workshop will cover how to determine if a franchise business is right for you; how to fund a business; and more. Plus, enjoy a panel discussion from successful franchisees who will answer attendee questions. This workshop is offered for free due to the generosity of Army Veteran Robert Jacoby. Breakfast, lunch, parking and the "Your Career 2.0" book are included.

Entrepreneurship Training for Veterans Registration

HBI, a national leader for career training in the building industry, is providing SkillBridge-approved training, certification and placement in the construction industry. Take advantage of a 12-week, no-cost construction industry training, certification and job placement through a new program in the Jacksonville, FL area. This program is open to active duty military (within 180 days of separation). Spouses and local veterans are also eligible.

The Vetrepreneur Summit is a free event for Veterans, Service Members, National Guard, Reservists, and spouses looking for resources to help start or build their business. There will be two panels with subject matter experts and successful entrepreneurs. Exhibitors are placed around the room to explain how they assist with small business needs. This is a great networking and promotional opportunity.

The Veterans Councils of Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau and St. Johns present the 2nd annual Gathering in the Pines on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Cecil Field. This event is open to the public, veterans and their families. All proceeds from this event will benefit the National POW/MIA Memorial and Museum. Please bring your own lawn chairs and spend the day.

The next Veterans Council of Duval County meeting will be on Tuesday, September 17, 2019. The meeting will be held at American Legion Post 137 at 7:00 P.M.

The Florida Fallen Heroes Golf Classic will be on Saturday, September 14th at the Bent Creek Golf Club.
