The Wounded Warrior Project Carry Forward 5K wil be on Saturday, November 10th at the Wounded Warrior Project Headquarters. Veterans carry the hopes and dreams of our nation on their shoulders. They always have. Wounded Warrior Project^® Carry Forward™, delivered by CSX^®, is a new 5K fitness challenge and fundraiser that unites us for one day for one purpose: to honor and support wounded warriors and their families.

The 15th Annual Marine & Navy FMF Corpsmen Memorial will be on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 2:30 P.M. at Evergreen Cemetery. This event is dedicated by Marines and Navy FMF Corpsmen of the Semper Fidelis Society. 

During the centennial of the Great War (1914-18), the Memorial Park Association will host a series of special programs and events to commemorate the first global war in history. See the Association’s Upcoming Events for a full list of programs.

The Military and Veterans Resource Center at the University of North Florida will host a Veterans Day Tribute on Thursday, Nov. 8 to honor and recognize students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community members who have served or are still serving in the military.

This is an opportunity for human resource professional interested in improving and increasing their hiring of military employees. Come interact with experienced panelists and discuss challenges and successes in a "closed door" private setting.

 

There will be a free food distribution at VA Outpatient Clinic on Tuesday, November 6th. Food is first come, first served. The event begins at 9:00 a.m. and will last until 12:00 p.m. or until food is gone. Please bring bags or containers to help carry multiple bags of food.

As a part of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s National Veterans Small Business Week, this event will present traditional and non-traditional lending options for current and future Veteran small business owners and Vetrepreneurs. There will be a brief panel followed by one-on-one opportunities for networking with leading financial institutions.

The 7th Annual Salute to Veterans 5K will be on Sunday, November 4th at the Riverside Arts Market. All proceeds benefit the USS ADAMS Museum and K9s for Warriors.

CareerSource Northeast Florida is proud to announce Paychecks for Patriots, a special hiring fair dedicated to local veterans and their families. There will also be free workshops throughout the event including: the federal job application process, V.A. disability claims process, financial counseling & guidance, and V.A. benefits.

The Invisible Becoming Visible: An Exhibition of Veterans' Art will be at the University of North Florida Lufrano Intercultural Gallery from Monday, October 29, 2018 through Friday, December 7, 2018. The gallery is currently open for limited hours, please inquire for specific times. The University of North Florida charges $5 for parking.
