Prior to tournament week, THE PLAYERS will welcome active duty, Reserve, retired military, veterans, and military spouses to TPC Sawgrass on Saturday, March 7th, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Birdies for the Brave® Patriots’ Outpost, to participate in its annual Military Job Fair, in partnership with the Jacksonville Military Veterans Coalition.

The next Vets4Vets Quarterly Gathering will be on February 29, 2020. The gathering will also feature a welcome home tribtue to Vietnam Veterans. There will be free parking in Lot Z and a free buffet lunch. This event is free for all Veterans.

Notice is hereby given that The Fire Watch Council will meet at 6:00 PM, Monday, February 24, 2020 in Lynwood Roberts room on the 1st Floor of the Jacksonville City Hall, 117 West Duval Street, Jacksonville, FL 32202. This meeting will be a public meeting of The Fire Watch Council for the purposes of gathering public feedback from Duval County residents regarding the multi-faceted Fire Watch plan to fight veteran suicide in Northeast Florida.

Cecil Field POW/MIA Memorial Phase 1 Groundbreaking Ceremony

Phase I focuses on Naval Air Station Cecil Field, Master Jet Base (1941-1999) as a Naval base and the many conflicts supported. This will honor and recognize the service members who were stationed at the base, Former Prisoners of War and those still Missing in Action. Donation for the event is $10 and includes a Bar-B-Que chicken dinner with a soft drink. Other beverages will be available for purchase. Online purchase is available through January 17, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. Donation for food after the deadline will be accepted at the door.

The City of Jacksonville Military Affairs and Veterans Department in partnership with the Jacksonville Public Library will be at the Charles Webb Wesconnett Library on the second Tuesday of each month from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Veterans can come speak with a Veteran Service Officer (VSO) at this local library with no appointment necessary!
