Including change in meeting location and other processes

Concurrent with the expiration of Mayor Curry’s Emergency Executive Proclamation 2020-005, we are updating some COVID-19 protocols.  The City of Jacksonville continues to comply with CDC guidelines for its public buildings.  The Ed Ball Building continues to operate at limited capacity and social distancing measures will continue.  Meetings of the full JEPB will be conducted in Room 110 of the Ed Ball Building unless otherwise specifically notated.  All seats in Room 110 will be marked to ensure safe spacing between individuals. Overflow seating may be available in other rooms within the building and citizens might be asked to rotate into and out of Room 110 to speak at scheduled public meetings.  Although masks are no longer required inside buildings, all visitors to the Ed Ball Building are encouraged to wear a mask inside the building.
Upon entry to the Ed Ball Building, all visitors must submit to the following procedures:

  • Signage will be posted encouraging visitors and staff not to enter the building if they have symptoms of COVID-19, a fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher, are currently undergoing evaluation for COIV-19 infection or a diagnosis of COVID-19 during the prior 14 days.

  • Signage will be posted regarding the recommended use of masks and social distancing.  Any member of the public entering City owned buildings may choose to wear a mask inside the building, although you are encouraged to do so.

  • Signage and floor stickers to encourage social distancing will be installed in all public gathering areas and the public is encouraged to comply.

Once inside the building, visitors will be directed to the appropriate meeting location.  Prior to public entry:

  • The room will be arranged so all JEPB members and staff are separated by 6 feet.

  • Using the 6-foot separation we will determine how many seats are available for the public.

  • Overflow room(s) will be setup with the same 6-foot chair separation.

  • Hand sanitizer will be available in the rooms.

  • If there is a need to rotate public in for comments, all chairs and surfaces will be wiped down before seating.
