Do You GeoCache?

Calling all modern day treasure hunters...the 2021 Jacksonville GeoCache Challenge has arrived!

The Challenge

Welcome to the tenth annual Jacksonville Geocache Challenge!  JaxParks has teamed up again with the Friends of JaxParks Geocachers, Visit Jacksonville and REI to present another amazing Challenge that will take you to parks and landmarks all over Jacksonville.  In this high-tech treasure hunt, participants will have the opportunity to earn a specially designed, uniquely shaped token by finding all 10 of the hidden caches.

How It Works

Ten containers, or caches, have been hidden in parks and public spaces throughout the city for geocachers to find.  Participants will use a global positions system (GPS) device to locate the caches. The Challenge begins on September 5, 2021 when the cache pages with GPS coordinates are published on www.geocaching.com.  Or, get a head start by attending the kick-off event at Southside Park (1541 Hendricks Ave) on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 9am where coordinates will be provided one day early.  The Challenge continues until 150 tokens have been claimed at REI of Jacksonville.

The official brochure, verification passport and additional details and rules for this year's Challenge can be found at our partner's website: https://jaxparkschallenge.wordpress.com/.

The Prize

To obtain this year's special token, take a completed passport to REI in Jacksonville.  The first 150 participants to check in with a unique geocaching name will receive a token.  REI is located at 4862 Big Island Drive in the St. Johns Town Center.
