Originally known as Washington Heights Park, it was renamed Charles Reese Memorial Park on February 18, 1987. Charles Reese was very active in the Washington Heights community and died in 1986 at the age of 55. A basketball court, picnic shelters, tables, grills and playscapes were added. Construction began in March of 1987 and was completed in June of the same year. In 2018, a fishing pier was added to the park.
