By-Appointment Review Program

This program will allow for plan review appointments for One- and Two-Family Alteration/Repair Building Permits. 

For contractors that have already submitted their permit online and the permit is “In Review” status, an appointment can be made to have your interior alteration/repair building permit for a one- or two-family home reviewed during an appointment. This By-Appointment Review program is only for interior alterations and/or repairs to one- or two-family homes. It does not include commercial projects, apartments/condos, swimming pools, accessory structures, screen rooms, etc.  

To help the contractor to leave with an active permit, we have some guidelines: 

• The permit must have been submitted online and in the “In Review” status at the time you make your appointment.   
• All agencies must show approved. Permits with an agency showing ‘plan review only’ are not eligible.  
• The appointment must be attended by the qualifier or an employee of the company. The contractor cannot send the client, their design professional, or other non-employee representative to attend the meeting in their place.  
• By-Appointment Review will be limited to four permits per contractor per week and only one permit per appointment. 

It’s important for the contractor to know that we will not be able to make changes to the plans or the permit package during this review. While our goal is to end the meeting with an issued permit, this will not be the case in all situations. A resubmission maybe required depending on the sufficiency of the building permit submission. 

We recommend all those with an appointment to arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time. You will need to check in at the kiosk. If more than five minutes late, you will need to reschedule your appointment so that our reviewers can be available to meet with other customers.
