William E. "Bill" Scheu has been selected by City Council President Greg Anderson to serve as a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Jacksonville Police and Fire Pension Fund replacing Walt Bussells.
Mr. Scheu is a prominent Jacksonville Attorney, associated with Rogers Towers P.A. since 1997, specializing in commercial real estate and business transactions, including development, leasing, and disposition. Mr. Scheu is also a Certified Circuit Court Mediator.
His education includes being a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School, the University of the South with a BA in History, cum laude, and the University of Florida Law School with honors.
Married to former Margaret Corbin since 1967, they have three daughters and seven grandchildren.
Mr. Scheu is active in the Riverside Presbyterian Church holding a number of important positions, including Trustee of the Riverside Presbyterian School. In addition he has recently served as Trustee Board Chair and Interim President of Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia.
A listing of the lengthy community service includes Chair of the Jacksonville Retirement Reform Task Force during 2013-2014; Supervisor of Election from October 2004-April 2005; Member of the Downtown Development Authority and Mayor's Commission on Housing.
He served in the United States Army Reserve with the 345th Evacuation Hospital from 1968-1974.
