A Jacksonville senior warming up at the Walk for Senior Wellness in April 2018.Every May, the City of Jacksonville joins communities throughout the country to celebrate Older Americans Month and recognize the many contributions older adults have made to our city, state and nation. The success Jacksonville experiences today is built on the strong foundation our seniors have laid.

Duval County is home to more than 175,000 residents aged 60 and older, representing 19.2% of the county's population. The City of Jacksonville and the Senior Services Division strive to enrich the lives of individuals of all ages by engaging older adults in our community, promoting home- and community-based services that support independent living, encouraging them to be advocates for themselves and others, and providing opportunities to share their experiences.

This Older Americans Month, we're asking citizens to write messages of thanks to be shared with patrons at the City's 20 senior centers. Take a moment to write a personal message in the online form below to have your message delivered to Jacksonville seniors.
