SunTrust Bank Donates to Non-Profit Organizations

Nine local charities will be receiving much-needed donations courtesy of SunTrust Bank by the end of 2008, announced John Schmitt, chairman, president and chief executive officer of SunTrust Bank, North Florida.

“These gifts, a special year-end donation, will provide our community the support many people need in these difficult times,” stated Schmitt. “On behalf of our board of directors and our employees, it is our privilege to assist these outstanding organizations, enabling them to continue to provide their fine services.“

The total SunTrust gift of $100,000 was distributed among the nine organizations to assist the critical needs of the North Florida community. They are:

  • Second Harvest Food Bank of North Florida
  • City Rescue Mission
  • Bread of the Mighty Food Bank in Gainesville
  • First Step Food Bank of Ocala
  • Panama City Rescue Mission
  • Big Bend Homeless Coalition of Tallahassee
  • Pine Castle
  • Boys & Girls Clubs of North Florida
