The City of Jacksonville Public Works Department has applied for Hazard Mitigation Grant  Program funder under Disaster 4337-IRMA with the Florida Division of Emergency Management. The goal is to acquire and install seven (7) permanent generators to support seven (7) wastewater pump stations. During Hurricane Irma in 2017, the backup generators failed due to unprecedented storm surge. As a result, the City wants to ensure the pump stations are at optimal performance to mitigate future storm surge in the affected neighborhoods.
