Dalton graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s of Science in Natural Resource and Forest Conservation. During his time at the University of Florida, he interned with the Florida Forest Service as a forester and doing a range of activities involving ecological restoration and forest production measurements. After graduating he worked as a research assistant at Auburn University, Alabama under the Forest Health professor, mainly involved with tree health, tree pathogens, and forest entomology. Dalton is a certified arborist and has a tree risk assessment qualification from the international society of arboriculture (ISA).
