Family Oriented Nonprofits, Healthcare Insurance Representatives, and Faith-Based Organizations provided educational materials, life sustaining resources, vision screenings, free pairs of glasses, candy apples, popcorn, and fun activities in a safe, friendly environment. There were also two Medical Mobile units. UF Health premiered its FREE Rapid HIV testing unit while Ascension St. Vincent's conducted Height, Weight, and BMI growth measurements for children. Attendees were in for a special treat when to everyone's surprise; the Edward Waters University Homecoming Parade passed by with their sights, sounds, and pageantry of School Pride! In addition to the festivities there was a contactless drive thru grocery distribution. 15 Community Partners and 20 volunteers distributed 8,576 pounds of food as well as dozens of giveaways to over 120 families that attended.
The Mayor’s Community Based Crime Reduction Program could not be a success without the support of our Community Partners. We truly appreciate their contributions that provide vital resources and reduce crime in Northwest Jacksonville's most vulnerable neighborhoods. Visit our Community Partners' websites for more details by clicking on their logos. The Mayor’s Community Based Crime Reduction Program is governed by the CBCR Steering Committee.
