Jacksonville is on the move. That fact was on full display at the grand opening of Amazon’s JAX2 Fulfillment Center in northwest Jacksonville this month.
When we announced that Amazon was coming to Jacksonville a few years ago, it was the largest jobs announcement in city history. It’s gotten even bigger since then! JAX2 is the second of two fulfillment centers the online retail giant has opened here in Jacksonville, adding a whopping 5,000 jobs to our community. Amazon now has four facilities in Jacksonville. As mayor, I remain committed to responsible economic investments that protect taxpayer resources and create the highest possible return for taxpayers in our community. I had the privilege to meet many of the individuals employed at JAX2, and even tried my hand at packaging an order. I look forward to building on this great momentum in the coming years to deliver even greater successes for our city.
