Recently, City Council Vice-President Scott Wilson and I joined a team from our Public Works Department to repair a road cave-in in the Beachwood community.
I am grateful for these hardworking public servants who are working every day to repair and maintain thousands of miles of City roadways. Since taking office in 2015, my administration has made improving infrastructure and long-neglected conditions a top priority in our budgets. Every neighborhood in Jacksonville deserves safe and well-maintained roadways. That priority continues in the budget I proposed to City Council a few weeks ago, with a $6 million investment in roadway repairs and $12 million for resurfacing in the next fiscal year. These efforts are critical to my vision for One City. One Jacksonville. I look forwarding to continuing the collaboration with my colleagues in City Council to pass a budget that serves the needs of every community in our city.
