The Holiday Spirit

December 18, 2018
The mayor and his family help a young girl pick out a new bike at the 2018 Children's Christmas Party of Jacksonville.

As an annual tradition, my family and I volunteer and hand out gifts at the Children’s Christmas Party of Jacksonville.

The event is one of our city’s best holiday traditions serving families in need, and it’s been going two decades strong.
Every year, this event brings excitement, smiles and happiness to thousands of children and Jacksonville families. And every year, as many as 1,000 volunteers show up to help.
The Children’s Christmas Party is just one of many events where our community steps forward to help those in need. Throughout the year, volunteers help serve meals to homeless, provide gifts to children and families in need, and so much more.
The kindness and generosity demonstrated by the people of Jacksonville is reflective of the compassionate heart of our city.
We have so much to be thankful for in Jacksonville, and I am grateful for this opportunity to serve as mayor. From my family to yours, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
