Today at City Hall, the region's largest nonprofit food bank and hunger relief network, Feeding Northeast Florida, was presented a check that will provide 9,000 meals for Jacksonville families in need. In this competition, City employees took over 83 million steps, outpacing every other participating city, statewide, to be named the winner. And because of this accomplishment, Humana made this generous contribution in the City’s name to Feeding Northeast Florida, providing much needed assistance to Jacksonville citizens.
I am incredibly proud of our City employees, this achievement, and Humana for this compassionate program that will serve our citizens in need.
