Jacksonville is a city on the move, and we’re not stopping! Just look at these numbers…
We made the largest jobs announcement in our city’s history last July, when
Amazon confirmed their plans to hire 1,500 for a new fulfillment center on the Northside and another location on the Westside. And we broke ground for an
IKEA store that is slated to open later this year.
These successes will have a lasting effect on our economy and a powerful impact on thousands of local families throughout our city. And we’re not stopping there.
One of my most important jobs is to identify opportunities for growth and development, and address all barriers that impede our progress. We must create an environment where citizens in every zip code can thrive. And with the teamwork and support of our partners at the state and JAX Chamber, we’re doing just that.
That commitment extends to small businesses too. As a small business owner myself, I know how important they are to the vitality of our community. That’s why my team is working with City Council to bring back our Access to Capital program and other programs that support small and emerging businesses throughout the city.
