This morning, I visited the men and women of Century Ambulance Services to thank them for their dedicated service to our community over the past 40 years. I am grateful for all that they do to save lives and support better health outcomes in Jacksonville.
The visit occurred during National EMS Week
, a time to recognize the hard work and dedication of all who provide emergency medical services across our community.
This past year has brought many risks and challenges to the men and women in emergency medical services at our hospitals, among our first responders, and at private ambulance providers like Century. During the height of the pandemic, and even still today, they put their health and safety at risk to save lives and support the healing and care of others.
This year, Century Ambulance services celebrates four decades of providing disaster relief services, transport for the elderly, emergency transport for children, critical care, advanced life support, and more for our community. I am grateful for the care and support they provide.
To honor this milestone, I presented a proclamation declaring May 20, 2021 as Century Ambulance Day
Our EMS workers are healthcare heroes and we are grateful for their many contributions to our community.
