Mary Margaret Giannini Giannini joined the Office of General Counsel in November 2019.  Prior to joining the Office of General Counsel, Ms. Giannini served as a Law Clerk at the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida, for the Honorable Marcia Morales Howard.  Ms. Giannini was previously a tenured Professor of Law at Florida Coastal School of Law from 2008-2017, where she held leadership positions including Interim Dean (April 2015 - July 2015) and Associate Dean of Faculty Development (August 2014 - August 2015).  Prior to her position at Florida Coastal, she was a Visiting Professor of Law at Robert H. McKinney School of Law -- University of Indiana.  As an academic, Ms. Giannini published numerous law review articles addressing crime victims' rights.  She began her legal career serving as a Career Clerk at the U.S. 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, for the Honorable Stephanie K. Seymour.  

Ms. Giannini received her undergraduate degree in Modern History from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland, in 1992.  She earned her Masters in Library Science (archives concentration) in 1993 from the University of Albany, SUNY.  She obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the Robert H. McKinney School of Law -- Indiana University in 2002, graduating first in her class.  She was the Executive Managing Editor of the Law Review and the recipient of numerous law school and university-wide awards, scholarships, and fellowships.

Ms. Giannini is a member of the Florida Bar, Indiana Bar, the Jacksonville Bar Association, the Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association, the Chester Bedell Inn of Court, and the First District Appellate Inn of Court.  She currently serves as Secretary for the Jacksonville Federal Bar Association.
